Monthly Wrap - May
May has been all about our path back to Racing. A Return to Racing date was the news we were so desperately waiting to hear. JKB Racing participated with Industry authorities via teleconferencing, finalising a Return to Racing Plan that the Government approved - allowing trials to recommence in Tasmania on 18th May and more importantly, allowing Racing to resume on 14th June.
We also used our time away from racing to improve the flow of information to our clients. We increased our social media presence and something long overdue, released our new Website. We are very pleased with the end result and hope it will give an insight into our business from another perspective.
During May, we were also fortunate to be in the position to take some horses to Victoria to continue their racing. Ressy Ranger, Blaze Forth, Appraise, Silver Road and May’s Stable Star - Generalmaintenance. Starting off his Victorian campaign, Generalmaintenance was very unlucky in his run at Donald, then went on to finish a very strong 2nd at Ballarat with Jason Maskiell aboard, before Jason put in another terrific ride to win at Bendigo on 30th May. All things considered, it was a good result for May.
It is all onwards and upwards from here until we race at Launceston on 14th June. We are excited, our owners are excited, so let’s support our Industry and do the best we can to get us back to what we love doing.
